From 20 to 22 March 2025, the international conference “Rethinking Popular Music Production in Austria and Germany from 1930 to 1950 – Structures, Styles, and Stagings” took place at the ABPU Linz. It was organised by the PopPrints Project Team Linz, consisting of Carolin Stahrenberg, Roxane Lindlacher and Lukas Mantovan.

Over the course of three days, 19 scholars presented their research, which addressed topics such as musical theatre, films, publishers, and the recording industry. Pamela Potter (University of Wisconsin-Madison) gave the keynote on “Promoting Popular Music in Hitler’s Berlin”.
